Celebrate Maha Shivratri
“The Great Night of Shiva” with Arvind
This year IKIGAI is inviting it’s community to gather together on the special occasion of Maha Shivratri on Friday, 8th March 2024!
What is Maha Shivratri?
Mahashivratri is one of the largest and most significant among the sacred festivals of India. The festival celebrates the Grace of Shiva, who is considered the Adi Guru or the First Guru from whom the Yogic tradition originates. The planetary positions on this night, which is also the darkest night of the year, are such that there is a powerful natural upsurge of energy in the human system. It is enormously beneficial for one’s physical and spiritual wellbeing to stay awake and aware in a vertical posture throughout the night.
Event Rundown
To kickstart the night, avid yogi Arvind will lead the group through a 2-hour practice session from 8:45PM-10:45PM involving:
Asana - Posture Practice
Pranayama - Yogic Breathing Techniques
Trataka - Candle Gazing
Meditation - Silent Witnessing
Mantra Chanting - Healing Vibrations
Yoga Nidra - Guided Subconscious Relaxation
All levels are welcome!
After the class, interested students are welcome to stay at the studio until later hours of the night to watch the live online stream by Isha Foundation in India.
This part is not mandatory to join. Students can leave after the night class. But if you want to test your willpower to stay awake until the early hours of the morning, it is an exuberant nightlong festival with and spectacular musical performances by renowned artists and talks by Sadhguru. (Our IKIGAI co-founder will be there until 6am)

Arvind started his yoga journey at a very young age. Throughout his journey he came across great yogis, saints and sages gaining insightful knowledge and experience from them.
Arvind has been teaching yoga in Hong Kong since 2007. Under his guidance, many of his students live more fulfilled, balanced, joyful and peaceful lives. He aims to help his students fulfil their own true potential.
Arvind is committed to the science of yoga and pays close attention to psychological and physiological states. He believes that practising asana is only the beginning. It leads to other aspects of yoga and self-actualisation.
